Fabrics

With Karkalla Handmade I am aiming to offer products that are in contrast to today’s fast fashion. I am striving to offer styles that are fashionable but won’t go out of fashion, and can be worn season after season.

Everything is made to order to reduce waste and I source remnant or deadstock fabrics where possible as an alternative to newly produced fabrics.

For garments made with new, virgin fabrics, I am seeking out fabrics that have minimal environmental impacts. While new clothing and materials are always going to have an ecological impact I am doing my best to ensure those items that I make are doing the least harm. From sourcing fabrics from eco friendly materials that require the least impactful processing, to seeking out printers that minimise chemical waste from their printing processes there is a lot thought and effort that going into producing my garments behind the scenes.

So what are the fabrics I'm using?
